Barbara Gangwer, Strategy and Business Process Advisor for the City of Seattle, was awarded the Community Service and Contributions Award by the Seattle Management Association’s Excellence in Management luncheon at the Columbia Tower Club Dec. 5.
The award “recognizes a city employee who has shown extraordinary dedication to promote and personally contribute to the community in which we work and live…through a variety of service and volunteer activities, financial or economic support, or by providing leadership to a charitable organization or community cause.”
Gangwer created Seattle Shares, a program through which city employees volunteer for and donate money to community-based organizations. (end)
