Tasveer, a Seattle-based nonprofit organization dedicated to showcasing South Asian film, art, and media, hosted their 8th annual Aaina South Asian Women’s Festival from May 10 to May 12 at the Seattle Asian Art Museum (SAAM).
The festival, which featured creativity workshops, networking opportunities, book readings, and film screenings, attracted hundreds of attendees over the three-day program. Friday and Saturday performances of Yoni Ki Baat — a South Asian adaptation of the Vagina Monologues — sold out SAAM’s 219-seat auditorium. The Sunday afternoon performance attracted over 150 attendees.
In addition to Aaina, Tasveer also hosts the Seattle South Asian International Documentary Festival and the Seattle South Asian Film Festival. (end)
