Deanna Duff received two awards for articles published in the Northwest Asian Weekly at the Washington Press Association’s annual Community Awards, which was held on April 20 at the Museum of Flight in Tukwila. She received third place in the social issues category for “Women take over: Northwest Asian Artists at SAM,” published on Nov. 17, and third place in the arts and entertainment category for “From DanceChance to the Stage,” published on May 5. In addition, she also received the Press Association’s Communicator of Excellence award for her entire body of work from 2012.
The Washington Press Association was originally founded in 1946 and annually recognizes the best writing in newspapers, in magazines, and online. In 2012, the WPA received a record number of entries. (end)
