The Shorecrest High School Hip Hop Dance Team took first place, over seven other high schools in the 3A hip-hop category at the Washington Interscholastic Activities Association’s State Dance and Drill Championships on Friday, March 22. The event was hosted at the Yakima Sun Dome.
The team is coached by Rex Kinney and Angelo Buevla and scored competition high 281.4 out of a possible 300 points.
The team features 35 members, with 13 varsity dancers, 9 alternate dancers, and 17 junior varsity dancers. The team co-captains are Khan Malik and Konrad Otani.
The team finishes the year with an undefeated record and the district championship title. (end)
