The Seattle chapter of the Asian American Journalist Association appointed Mai Hoang as Chapter President and Tiffany Wan as Vice President of events. This action follows a 60-day nomination period and fills two vacancies on the five-person board.
As Chapter President, Mai Hoang will represent the Seattle chapter at many events and is responsible for the wellbeing of the organization. Her day-to-day duties will include facilitating board meetings, managing relationships with other organizations, and speaking on the chapter’s behalf. She will serve her term through 2013.
Wan will be responsible for the planning and management of AAJA Seattle events, such as the Lunar New Year Banquet and Silent Auction, summer barbecues, social outings, and the like. Wan will serve a two-year term, ending in 2014. With the appointment of Hoang as president, the position of treasurer is now vacant. Hopefuls may be nominated until March 14. (end)
