Blaine Tamaki from Yakima was honored as Trial Lawyer of the Year by the Washington State Association for Justice.
This is the highest honor given at the association’s annual banquet luncheon. Tamaki, a third-generation Japanese American, graduated with honors from the University of Washington School of Law. For the last several years, Tamaki’s work in landmark cases has garnered national attention. Tamaki was lauded for his efforts in holding the State of Washington accountable for the escape of notorious serial murderer “Cowboy Mike,” where he represented women who were nearly killed and the families of women who were killed before state officials caught up with the fugitive.
