SEATTLE (AP) — A 28-year-old man charged in the 2011 hit-and-run death of a Seattle bicyclist has pleaded guilty.
Erlin Garcia-Reyes of suburban Normandy Park entered his plea Tuesday in King County Superior Court to a charge of felony hit-and-run in the death of Michael Wang.
King County prosecutor’s spokesman Dan Donohoe says Garcia-Reyes is scheduled to be sentenced on Aug. 10. The sentencing range is 31 to 41 months and prosecutors will recommend a sentence of 41 months.
The 44-year-old Wang was a photographer who worked for PATH, a Seattle-based world health organization. He commuted by bike to his home in suburban Shoreline and was on his way home when he was hit by an SUV on July 28, 2011.
Garcia-Reyes was arrested in June. (end)
