Members of the Korean American Bar Association (KABA) came together last month for their annual banquet at the Palace Ballroom. Participants were treated to the keynote speaker, Steven Gonzáles, Washington Supreme Court Justice. Before his appointment as Supreme Court Justice, Gonzáles served as a domestic-violence prosecutor for Seattle and worked in the business law department at a Seattle law firm. He also served as an assistant U.S. attorney for the Western District of Washington. KABA was developed in Los Angeles after the Los Angeles riots, which greatly affected Korean store owners in the area. KABA’s Seattle chapter works to further legal education, career, and networking opportunities for members, and promote diversity in the legal community. (end)
