The Thai Association of Washington has launched the Baan Yen School, offering informal, education classes for the community. Classes ranging from Restaurant 101 to flower arranging and Thai culture are available, and can include Thai interpreters. The objective behind the Baan Yen School is to enhance their community’s knowledge in a wide variety of areas that could improve personal and family well-being. Art and science courses are available for children, while Personal Investment for Retirement and Home Buying 101 are available for adults. The program was designed to strengthen relationships among Thais in the community by providing informal education for all members of the family. Some classes have already opened and have filled up quickly. (end)
