Donors and members of Bellevue-based LifeSpring gathered at its Step Up to the Plate benefit luncheon, where Patti Payne, “Puget Sound Business Journal” columnist and radio personality, emceed the event. Capt. Suzanna Darcy-Hennemann, Boeing’s first female test pilot, served as keynote speaker. The luncheon raised $250,000 to support LifeSpring’s youth, health, education, and emergency service programs. LifeSpring was born out of the Overlake Service League in 1911, and it now provides services for Bellevue’s growing community through privately raised funds and proceeds from its thrift stores. (end)
