About 360 benefactors gathered on March 3 to save lives and end breast cancer. They raised $825,000 for the Puget Sound affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure at the annual Grace Notes Gala, held at The Fairmont Olympic Hotel in Seattle.
Seventy-five percent of net funds raised at the gala will be invested in the Western Washington community, primarily to provide breast cancer screenings for underserved women. Last year, Komen Puget Sound was able to provide free mammograms to more than 13,000 qualified low-income and underserved women. (end)
