To the Editor:
I’d just like to say thank you to the robbery witness (in the page 2 story of last week’s issue, “Woman robbed in Chinatown, loses $2,000 and passport”) for stepping up to be a good citizen in helping the victim and the police in tracking down the perpetrators in this robbery incident.
The courage of the woman who hung onto the car should also be commended.
At the same time, I like to remind all our fellow Seattle-ites to be vigilant and to stand up to the criminals who think Asians are easy targets. We must stay active in fighting street crimes in our community and improve the image of Chinatown International District. We have to teach these criminals a lesson. Otherwise, so much tax money and citizen participation in various city programs to improve our community will be wasted if we allow these scum preying on our streets.
