Sept. 22: Mary Yu named Outstanding Judge of the Year

The Washington State Bar Association (WSBA) presented Judge Mary I. Yu, of King County Superior Court, with the 2011 Outstanding Judge of the Year Award, along with Judge Steven C. González at an awards dinner at the Hyatt at Olive 8.

Yu was appointed to the bench in 2000 by then-governor Gary Locke. Prior to her appointment, she served as deputy chief of staff to King County Prosecutor Norm Maleng, and director of the Peace and Social Justice Office for the Archdiocese of Chicago. (end)
