Oct. 2: Wang Yung wins gold at Veteran Worlds

Bellevue resident Wang Yung won his first Veteran World Championship title in fencing. The championship took place in Croatia, and Team USA won 17 medals in total, the most earned by any U.S. team at the World Championships.

Yung started fencing in 1969 at City College of New York and was inducted into City College Athletic Hall of Fame in 1996. He is also a certified fencing master in sabre and is a nationally rated sabre referee. (end)
