“Asian Americans don’t scream like African Americans in fighting for what they want.”
That’s the observation of an Asian elected official. Without the support of the Asian community, she lamented, she can’t get things done.
“You know how the Black community is. They scream and yell if you don’t give them what they ask for. And they usually get it,” she said.
We have to support our leaders by showing up at meetings. We have to speak up and be bold. That’s what I’ve learn from the Black community. ♦
