Ehrik Aldana, a student at Skyline High School in Sammamish, placed as a semi-finalist at the English-Speaking Union (ESU) National Shakespeare Competition held in New York City.
Aldana had won the ESU Seattle Branch regional competition.
The competition is a school-based program to help students develop their speaking and critical thinking skills, as well as an appreciation of Shakespeare. In three progressive competitions, students memorize, interpret, and perform monologues and sonnets.
