Seattle Mayor Mike McGinn gave Carolee Boyd and Sarah Coleman mayoral recognition for their work over the years, teaching immigrants English at the International District/Chinatown Community Center for free.
The-Anh Nguyen, who nominated them for the recognition, said, “They are the sweetest pair of grandmas that anyone could have. … They are my superheroes. I call them ‘the saints.’ Even when they do not feel well, they still try their best to get to the classes.” ♦
