What I’ve learned is that it’s okay to offer friends light foods. You won’t be viewed as being rude.
Don’t serve fancy meats, greasy grilled steaks, roasts, heavy pies, and really sweet desserts. In avoiding these foods, you are actually being thoughtful. Why do you want to add additional cholesterol and calories to your friends’ bodies?
Also, don’t serve hard liquor. You don’t want your friends to get into a drunk-driving situation!
It’s not the food that matters. It’s the conversation and company that counts.
So treat your friends something decent. ‘Decent’ now has a whole different meaning and a lower price tag. ♦
