The annual event commemorating the valor and courage of Filipino American soldiers in Bataan and Corregidor during World War II was held at the Filipino Community Center in Seattle.
Remembered were American and Filipino soldiers who, wearing American colors, were forced to surrender to Japanese troops in 1942. They were subsequently subjected to torture and humiliation during the Bataan Death March.
Seattle Councilmember Bruce Harrell was a guest speaker at the Seattle commemoration. ♦
