The Seattle Chinese Garden needs additional volunteers to help with visitors as the weather gets warmer. Volunteers will answer visitor questions, give informal tours to individuals and small groups, handle admissions, and assist in the discovery center, which features displays, information, and a small gift shop.
Volunteers will receive training about Chinese gardens during a 1–4 p.m. session (Saturday April 16 or April 30), or individually by observing and helping volunteers during a shift. SCG is open Wednesdays through Sundays, noon to 4:30 p.m. through March 31, and then to 5:30 p.m. in the spring. At least two volunteers share responsibilities during all shifts.
Currently in construction, the 4.6-acre SCG will be one of the largest Chinese gardens outside of China, showcasing plants, stones, architecture, and water elements. ♦
