The Denise Louie Education Center received a $2,000 grant from the Target Foundation to focus on infant/toddler cultural literacy in its Early Head Start program.
With the $2,000, the program was able to purchase more than 275 multicultural books in Spanish, Somali, and Chinese languages, which were given out to families.
Denise Louie Education Center has been serving Seattle’s immigrant and refugee communities for more than 30 years. It provides early education and family support services to nearly 300 children ages 0–5 and their families. ♦
