Most small business grand opening ceremonies don’t include a master of ceremonies. Consequently, these ceremonies lack focus. I have witnessed chaos at many ceremonies. Some people have even cut the ribbon before the photographer is ready to take the photo.
Who should be the emcee? A family member or friend would be good. In the case of Mekong Village, the owner’s daughter served as the emcee.
She gave a nice history of the family’s involvement in the restaurant business. Her dad came from Vietnam as a refugee and is now the owner of a restaurant that seats 100 people.
Then, all the guests were treated to lots of Vietnamese food. The whole event was done in about an hour. What a great beginning for Mekong Village. ♦
