Dec. 7: Paul Kurose and others win 2010 Denny Awards

Paul Kurose

Paul Kurose, a volunteer karate sensei at Rainier Beach Community Center, was awarded a Making a Difference Award at the 2010 Denny Awards ceremony held at Lake Union Park Armory. The annual Denny Awards are given for outstanding volunteer stewardship.  

Kurose has donated his time in teaching karate for the past seven years. Other award winners included Patrick Jones, Mike Hemion, Natalie Whitan, Heron Habitat Helpers, Darrell Glover, Seward Park Playground Improvement Foundation, Fran and Bunny Wood, and the Freeway Park Neighborhood Association. ♦
