These days, I wear a lot of hats, both figuratively and literally. That is reality for a little publisher.
My camera is more important than a cell phone. A cell phone can take pictures too, I agree. However, the photos are lousy.
Mainstream publishers rarely
write. But I do, and I blog, too. Not that I am a great blogger, but I don’t need to pay myself to blog. Most importantly, I can share with the community about the interesting people I meet and the fun places I visit.
So the last thing I expected was to get an award for blogging, which I did from the Washington Newspaper Publishers Association on Oct. 1.
My job is also to help fill the pages with stories and advertisements. Not that I am the best salesperson, but I have to haggle for my business, or else we won’t survive. ♦
