The Women of Color Empowered luncheon honored 11 female educators on Sept. 24 at the China Harbor Restaurant. Despite the fact that the event honored women, several important men showed up. They belong to what I call the presidents’ league.
Without our planning, eight college presidents came to pay respect to the honorees. The superintendent of Federal Way Public School was also there.
Just look at the picture, you’ll see how diversity has improved among school administrations over the years.
I hope these administrators will be committed to nurturing younger women and the next generation of people of color to be their successors. One day, we can rejoice that the queen bee syndrome does not exist any more! ♦
