The Japanese Community Service of Seattle (JCS), one of the oldest Japanese community organizations, donated $50,000 to the Japanese Cultural and Community Center of Washington (JCCCW).

In January 2009, the Nikkei Heritage Association of Washington merged with the Seattle Japanese Language School (SJLS) and became JCCCW. They are working together to create a home for the Japanese and Japanese American communities in Seattle. This donation was given to encourage support and contributions to the JCCCW from other Nikkei and Japanese American organizations and individuals. ♦
