The Asian American Journalists Association (AAJA) awarded 10 people for excellence in news coverage of Unlimited Subject Matter and Asian American and Pacific Islander Issues for 2010. Two of the 10 winners are local — Joaquin Uy, news and public affairs director of KCBS 91.3 FM Community Radio, and Irene Noguchi, a reporter for the station.

They won for their program on the Senior Community Service Employment Program (SCSEP).

AAJA is a nonprofit professional and educational organization aimed at encouraging Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders to enter the ranks of journalism.  ♦
