If you need to get something done, get a busy person to do it. Dennis Su, who is chair of the parade, is also active in many other community projects, including China Tomorrow, a foundation he started to build schools in China’s impoverished regions.
Su is not the only family member dedicated to the Chamber. His wife, Millie, also volunteers as co-chair for the Chamber’s Miss Seattle Chinese pageant.
Under Su’s leadership, the Chamber moved the parade reviewing stand next to the Hay Hing Park. Originally, it was outside the Chong Wah Benevolent Association. Su recalled how he and three volunteers created a wooden stand with their own hands.
Su recently found sponsorship support to rent a set of bleachers. This year, he had many volunteers to help in the parade. ♦
