After years in the Seattle political scene as communications director for Seattle Mayor Greg Nickels, Robert Mak returned to KING-TV on June 21. He will once again host “Up Front,” a public affairs show.
“I always enjoyed exploring issues facing our community, reporting ideas, and sharing perspectives. I’m very excited to return to KING-TV,” said Mak.
After leaving the mayor’s office, Mak didn’t immediately jump back into news. Instead, he spent time at home with his new baby boy after his wife, a hospital administrator, went back to work full-time.
Mak started at KING in 1992 before leaving in 2008 to work in the mayor’s office. He has earned 12 regional Emmys and three national Walter Cronkite Awards for Excellence in Television Political Journalism.
Mak graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and earned a master’s degree from Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism in New York. ♦
