The weekend before Father’s Day, kids and their dads made the most of the good weather and hit the great outdoors. Some went running, some rode bikes, others went for a swim. In talking to people, we noticed something about the fathers and their children — their appreciation for one another extends beyond Father’s Day.

Fifteen-year-old Clay, 12-year-old Kire, and 10-year-old Kent Scolland love being outdoors, something they inherited from their dad, Eric. “He is the barbecue king,” says Kent. His brother Clay adds, “He always likes to hike, camp, fish, and he travels a lot.” Kire points out that their dad isn’t all fun and games. “He’s big on integrity. He will help us to face our fears on our own.” |
