In Seattle, the weather is the boss. For those of you who didn’t participate in the Walk for Rice because you thought it might rain, well, the weather fooled you.
Walk for Rice, organized by the Asian Counseling and Referral Service, tamed the boss. It poured in the morning and then on and off before the walk started. When the walk began at Seward Park, the rain stopped completely.
ACRS raised $180,000.
Many elected officials walked, including Rep. Sharon Tomiko Santos, Seattle City Councilmen Bruce Harrell and Richard Conlin, King County Assessor Lloyd Hara, and others. ♦
