Fred Whang
At the Association of Community College Trustees (ACCT) conference in San Francisco, Fred Whang, an attorney who practices in the International District, was elected to the 24-member board of directors. Also elected at that time was Shauna Weatherby, Clover Park Technical College trustee, to the Diversity Committee.
“I strongly believe in the community college system in the U.S. and also believe that some Asian parents look down on students who attend community colleges and would like to see those parents exposed to the strengths of the [community college] system,” said Whang.
ACCT is designed to enhance the image and foster greater public appreciation of community colleges and their governing boards. ♦
