This year, Luly Yang’s Annual Couture Fashion Show was a collection influenced by the artist Michelangelo. Each garment worn down the runway was designed with historical costume elements.
The show was held at the Fairmount Olympic Hotel in the Spanish Ballroom. The show benefitted Camp Korey in Carnation, Wash. Five children from the Seattle area who each attended Camp Korey wore an outfit on the runway designed by Luly. The show raised $50,000.
Camp Korey is designed for children with chronic or life-threatening illnesses. It allows campers to safely enjoy the activities of a traditional camp. Campers have the chance to be with other kids coping with the same illnesses or conditions so they realize that they are not alone. ♦
