Tom Ikeda, executive director of Densho: The Japanese American Legacy Project, was honored among six finalists for the 2009 Microsoft Alumni Foundation’s Integral Fellows program.
Of the six finalists, three winners were awarded a $25,000 grant for their nonprofits by Bill and Melinda Gates at the Microsoft Alumni Foundation 2009 gala on Nov. 18.
Ikeda previously worked as the product group general manager at Microsoft. He has received awards including the Humanities Washington Award, NPower Innovation Award for innovative technology by a nonprofit (Densho), and Washington State Historical Society David Douglas Award (Densho) within the past 5 years.
The winners were Patrick Awuah, Trish Millines Dziko, and John Wood. Other finalists included Peter Bladin and Linda English. ♦
