Chinese guitarist Xuefei Yang will present an intimate performance on Nov. 10 in the Illsley Ball Nordstrom Recital Hall.
An acclaimed guitarist, Yang has been a pioneer in her art form as the first Chinese guitarist to sign with a major record label (EMI Classics). Her debut album, “Romance de Amor,” was released in April 2006 and reached the #3 spot on the UK iTunes Top Albums chart. Her second EMI album, “40 Degrees North,” features music from Spain and China.
Yang began playing the guitar at age 7 and started formal lessons at age 10.
Soon after, she made her first public appearance at the First China International Guitar Festival. She entered Beijing’s Central Conservatory of Music at age 13 and performed the following year in Madrid, Spain.
Yang’s concert will kick off the 2009–2010 Guitar series and Celebrate Asia! series. ♦

Finally, I located the information I was looking for. I have been doing research on this subject, and for four days I keep finding websites that are supposed to have what I’m looking for, only to be disappointed with the lack of what I wanted. I wish I would have found your web-site sooner! I had about 30% of what I was looking for and your site has that, and the rest of what I had to have to finish my research. Thank you and keep up the good work!
