The annual election for the International Special Review District (ISRD) Board will occur on Nov. 17 at the Bush Asia Hotel from 11 a.m.–6 p.m.
The three positions open this year include one for a business person, property owner, or employee, and two for a resident, tenant, or community participant.
In 1973, the ISRD was created to preserve the cultural and historical qualities of the International District.
The board reviews both changes to individual businesses and changes that may impact the entire district such as the use of public sidewalks and new construction.
The board has seven members, five elected by the community and two appointed by the mayor. Board members serve two-year terms.
The ISRD meets at 4:30 p.m. on the second and fourth Tuesday of every month at the Bush Asia Hotel. ♦
