Competition participants and spectators waited in anticipation as kalbi — marinated meat — sizzled on the grill.
Judges decided that the Korean American Bar Assocation made the “Baddest Kalbi in the Northwest.”
The Korean BBQ Cook-Off Competition was held at Luther Burbank Park. It was hosted by the Korean America Coalition of Washington (KAC-WA), Korean American Bar Association (KABA), and Korean America Health Professional Association (KAHPA). More than 110 people attended.
In the end, first place went to KABA for “Baddest Kalbi in the Northwest.”
Judges for the event included food writer Matthew Amster-Burton, Marination Mobile co-owner Kamala Saxton, Shilla Restaurant owner Scott Koh, and Shnoo Yogurt owner Shnoo Lee. ♦
