If you are running for office and you just missed the Chinatown Parade on July 19, you should pinch yourself.
For $100, you could join in the parade and reached over 10,000 folks. This is a hot election year.
Mayor Greg Nickels, currently with low polls, is running for reelection. Seattle City Council Member Jan Drago is running for his seat. Both were waving and shaking hands on both sides of the aisle. So were King County Council Members Larry Philips and Dow Constantine, both vying for the King County Executive (KCE) seat.
And former tv anchor, Susan Hutchinson, another KCE candidate, who has been accused of hiding, showed up at the parade.
Don’t get the impression that candidates dominated the parade. Clowns (about 35) and pirates (about 60) were fun for the kids.
