From the AP:
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Davidson County Sheriff Daron Hall was a guest speaker at a recent meeting of a white supremacist group.
The Tennessean reported Saturday that the Council of Conservative Citizens condemns immigration, warns against interracial relationships and works to preserve the country’s “cultural and racial integrity.”
Hall told the newspaper that he didn’t know anything about the group’s views. He also said he’s worked hard his entire life “to build relationships with diversity.”
Hall said he spoke about his department’s 287(g) program at the council’s Nov. 22 dinner at a local restaurant. The program allows deputies to help enforce federal immigration law.
His appearance came to light Thursday from a posting on the Southern Poverty Law Center’s Hatewatch blog.

Strange that the sheriff agreed to be the speaker without researching what the organization is about … something is fishy here. Thoughts? Sound off here.
