To the Editor:
On behalf of our client families at Family Services, I thank the Northwest Asian Weekly Foundation for its gift of $3,000, which we received on Jan. 20. I have good news. You and many friends in the community have completed our $10,000 pledge for the Rotary Support Center. Together you accomplished the goal of contributing $10,000 toward our new building. Congratulations!
Construction of our new home is officially underway and moving along well! We expect to move into the new Rotary Support Center for Families in June. The Rotary Centennial Celebration will be held at the new building on June 24, 2009, so mark your calendars.
In the meantime, we are working hard to finish raising our campaign goal and to ensure that we achieve the challenge set by the Kresge Foundation. To do that, we must raise a total of $12.5 million by June 1, 2009. We have surpassed the $10.2 million mark and I want to thank you in particular for already partnering with us.
I am grateful for your dedicated, ongoing support and leadership as we move closer to our mutual goals of ending homelessness for 5,000 families over thenext 10 years. Together, we will transform the lives of children and families for years to come.
