Seattle Parks and Recreation will hold four meetings to discuss the Center City Security Project. The Center City Security Project involves installing cameras in Hing Hay Park, Occidental Park and Victor Steinbrueck Park.
Meetings will take place in the parks from 11:30 a.m.–2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 28, at Hing Hay Park, on Wednesday, Oct. 29, at Occidental Park, and on Thursday, Oct. 30, at Victor Steinbrueck Park. The fourth meeting will take place from 7–8 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 29, at the International District/Chinatown Community Center, 719 Eighth Ave. S.
Parks has funding to implement measures to improve security in center city parks, including a pilot program for installation of cameras. During these informational meetings Parks will talk about the plans for camera implementation. Parks will provide written project information, plans that show the proposed camera installation layout, and examples of the proposed cameras and hardware for the program. This project aims to enhance the safety and condition of the parks. ♦
