A Picnic

September 13, 2008 By Northwest Asian Weekly

Leaders and representatives from local organizations also helped plan the event, making it a successful community picnic.)

This year’s Asian Pacific Alliance Picnic was held on Aug. 9 in Lake Boren Park in Newcastle. The picnic was originally started to bring together friends and family from different Asian organizations around the Seattle area. There were sports like dodgeball, basketball, tennis and volleyball as well as a tug-o-war and three-legged race!

Many familiar faces were present, including Annamarie Cao, Maura Castillo (BAAPA), Cindy Ryu (mayor of Shoreline) and from ICHS: Amy Kim, Hirokshi Nakano and Veronica Kim. ♦
