Scholarship available for Washington students who are young entrepreneurs

Since 2003, the National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB)’s Young Entrepreneur Foundation (YEF) has awarded 2,095 scholarships to graduating high school seniors totaling $2,382,000. The NFIB Young Entrepreneur Awards program was established to raise awareness among the nation’s youth about the critical role that private enterprise and entrepreneurship play in the building of America.

Social Security benefits increases 3.6 percent for 2012

The Social Security Administration announced on Nov. 1 that monthly Social Security benefits will increase 3.6 percent in 2012. This cost-of-living adjustment (COLA) is the first since 2009.

ICHS voices concern over basic health and other health service cuts in governor’s proposed budget

International Community Health Services (ICHS), which helps low-income and uninsured people in Seattle, especially in the Asian Pacific Islander community, could see 80 percent more medically uninsured patients and an approximate $800,000 budget shortfall next year if Basic Health cuts unveiled by Gov. California governor Brown signs ban on shark fin trade

Blog: No need to beg Asians to run anymore

A few years ago, the Asian community had to persuade folks to run for open seats. Now, we are automatically dreaming big and thinking ahead.
