June 8: Mayor McGinn honors Tet in Seattle with award
The Seattle Arts Commission recommended six recipients from a pool of more than 300 public nominations for the Mayor’s Arts Awards, which recognizes the contributions made by artists, arts and cultural organizations, and community members who make a difference through arts and cultural activities.
Dollars to fund 36 diverse arts training projects for middle and high school youth
Fifteen high school students will create public artwork from recycled materials at Jimi Hendrix Park next summer, thanks in part to a $3,208 city youth arts grant awarded to the Northwest African American Museum.
