Book cover

Margaret Dilloway, who is half Japanese, read from and signed copies of her debut novel, “How to Be an American Housewife,” at Bellevue Regional Library.

Dilloway’s novel is inspired by her relationship with her Japanese mother and is modeled after a book written to instruct Japanese maids on how to keep an American house. The book is also about the marriage between a Japanese woman and her white husband.

Dilloway lives in Hawaii and also writes the blog “American Housewife.” (end)
