June 15: Partners in Preservation gives $1 million to local groups for preservation efforts

American Express and the National Trust for Historic Preservation announced that 11 Puget Sound area historic sites were receiving grants as part of Partners in Preservation’s $1 million commitment to preservation efforts in the area. Among them is the Japanese Cultural & Community Center of Washington (JCCCW), which was awarded $75,000.

Other winners include Schooner Adventuress, Town Hall Seattle, Ferry House at Ebey’s Landing, Point No Point Lighthouse, University Heights Community Center, Washington Hall, Chapel Car 5 “Messenger of Peace,” Mill Creek Canyon Earthworks, Skansie Brothers Net Shed, and Orting Soldiers Home-Garfield Hall. ♦
