Attention: Applications for Commission on Asian Pacific American Affairs accepted through May

May 27, 2010 By Northwest Asian Weekly

Applications for the Washington State Commission on Asian Pacific American Affairs are being accepted through the end of May.

Commission members are appointed by the governor to serve three-year terms. The open positions will become available June 30. The governor’s office is looking for diversity in commission membership.

The commission on Asian Pacific American Affairs was established by the state legislature in 1974 to improve the well-being of Asian Pacific Americans by ensuring access to participation in the fields of government, business, education, and other areas. The board is made up of 12 governor-appointed members that represent the diverse communities of Washington state. ♦

Applications are on the governor’s website at www.governor.wa.gov. They’re also available by contacting the commission at 360-725-5667.
