The Asian Adult Adoptees of Washington (AAAW), founded in 1996, celebrated its 15th anniversary with a special conference, or mini-gatherings, at various locations in Seattle.
The concept of mini-gatherings is a grassroots adult adoptee tradition that arose in the United States after the 1999 Gathering of the First Generation of Adult Korean Adoptees in Washington, D.C. As with other mini-gatherings, the AAAW 15th Anniversary event offered opportunities for networking, dialogue, socializing, and community development.
Approximately 150 people attended the event. (end)
