The Arboretum Foundation presented a display at the Northwest Flower & Garden Show, titled “The Japanese Garden-Bridging History,” and earned the Gold Award for it. The display, which celebrated the Seattle Japanese Garden’s 50th anniversary, drew inspiration from the Japanese folktale, “The Old Man Who Made Cherry Trees Blossom.” The display showcased cherry blossom trees that had been forced to bloom.
The designers of the display were Roger Williams, Phil Wood, and Bob Lilly. ♦
