To the Editor:
I am writing this letter to you, long overdue, concerning the continual seeming prejudice shown toward single older white males and females and possibly other groups in the North Seattle areas!
I am a part-time student at a community college and have worked in sales. I am also a local Republican volunteer here. I am an older white male in my late 50s.
I cannot understand why many Asian businesswomen, in the food area, for example, are so intolerant of those of us who are “more modern” in our tastes, such as preferring vegetarian food! I have been harassed twice by older Asian women workers about how I should eat meat or the items [they] chose!
My father was a clothing store manager. In those days, we were taught (in Penna) that the customers are always right! Why must Asian women continually push their “old world” beliefs on us mainstream Americans, especially those of us who are single and do not conform to these values?
Why must Asian business owners expect their workers, especially older white and Black Americans, to work at the so-called “fast speed” which they call normal?
Why don’t Asian people stay in this country, conform to the values we Americans have, and stop attempting to push theirs on us?
You may not like cheese and dairy products, but we Americans do.
I think it’s long overdue to stop blaming white people for your problems and look at yourselves to see how many of you treat us arrogantly! After all, many white single people are becoming a minority in this region anyhow!
I am a peaceful law abiding guy and I hope this letter gives you some feedback in the North Seattle areas.

Dennis, I look at your stereotypical writing as very “Old World”. America is a melting pot of culture. Live with it & maybe just chat with the people that you are talking of about how your values or characteristics may be a bit different then theirs, but that is cool that we can all live in the same country and be proud to call ourselves Americans.
God Bless America.
Sincerely,
